Notable for a remarkably comprehensive, contemporary African art collection, which spans a wide range of art disciplines, the Dei Centre, is a vital cultural center, an educational institution, and a place for the study of contemporary African art.
Visitors can experience special exhibitions of contemporary art, talks, performances, film screenings, and daily tours of the Centre led by a group of young docents. Based upon a collection of the Dei Foundation, the Dei Centre began as a partnership between the Seth and Carleene Dei Foundation and New York University’s Africa House. Today it is a vibrant, ever-growing institution devoted to the study of contemporary African Art.
